Paul C. Kuo, MD, has been a leader in university medical centers and medical departments for nearly two decades. His first such position was with Duke University as the chief of its division of general surgery as well as a tenured professor of surgery, serving in that role for a decade. He moved on to Loyola University Medical Center, holding a position as its chairman of surgery for seven years. Paul C. Kuo, MD, now serves as the chair of the department of surgery at the University of South Florida-Tampa General Hospital and is engaged with the business school's information systems and decision sciences dept, as well.
Dr. Paul C. Kuo's work includes a focus on using analytics and machine learning to improve the quality of surgical outcomes. One piece of medical research on which he worked looked at survival rates for burn victims. Dr. Kuo also participates in many professional societies, sharing his knowledge and connecting with other professionals with similar interests. He has held key positions in the Society of Asian Academic Surgeons and is a member of other organizations, including the Society of Surgical Chairs, the American Surgical Association, and the Western Surgical Association.Education
